We're leaving the normalcy once again...I'm writing this from La Iguana hotel in Coclé after spending a week in the city back in our routine. We had a few close calls taking the bus this week and learned that each day it was guaranteed that we had one REALLY bad bus experience and then one very good one. For example, one day we were 20 mins late to school because in the 30 mins of standing at the bus stop, two FULL buses passed us. When the third bus finally came, all six of us had to be squeezed into the front area of the bus. This past week's Spanish class went well. We went through a lot more things than the previous week. We also had two presentations, a test, and an essay due (3/4 things were due Friday). Most days we went to school in the morning, and then went to cafes in the evening to do homework. One highlight from the week was that Kayley and I convinced everyone to dress like their roommate on Friday! We had a photoshoot with everyone and it was so cute!

our neighbors down the street
they all bought shirts from the same Carnival celebration, so it was easy for them haha
We were planning on going to some clubs in Casco Viejo on Friday night, but after the week we had, we decided to go and have a chill dinner and game night. The next day we went to a yummy breakfast place and just walked around Casco since last time we had to leave super early for the beach.
we found a beauitful church and found an altar where people bring models of their houses to the patron saint of houses
smoothie bowl and lavander lemonade!
After a very short bus ride (under three hours for once) we arrived at La Iguana! It's a beautiful ecolodge with over SIX POOLS. Right when we set our stuff down in our rooms, we were looking for a fabled water slide someone saw online. We had to walk through the forest a bit but we eventually found it. It was extremely scary but I went down six times. It was so fun just hanging out with the whole group...it felt like summer camp! We also found a hidden river that was beautiful!!!
The next three days are going to be very long. We start our tropical forestry unit with Dr. Eric so we have class after breakfast, then data collection all day until presentations, then dinner and another night class. Then on Friday, we'll have our final presentations and a test on the material. Last ecology unit I was sick so I'm really excited to be able to gather data in the field for the first time (the first REAL time).
